Back workout!!! Cobra, bridge and dancers pose all require a strong, fully engaged back. Most people start their back bends by crunching into the lower back and hips, leading to possible injury.  The cervical and thoracic spine and the surrounding muscles are responsible for most of the curve that you see in a perfect bridge and allow the body to extend upward and then back, creating a high arch.  The muscles on the back of the neck, shoulder blades and the middle back are responsible for 80% of the backbend, allowing the front of the body to be relaxed and stretch from the head down through the abdomen. The other 20% comes from pressing the feet into the floor and engaging the glutes and quads.  The lower back should be the LAST area engaged when working on back bends of any kind. #aerialist #aerialsilks #aerialistsofig

Motivation is overrated. The #1 thing people say they struggle with when they join my challenges is 👉🏻motivation. I believe this is what people THINK is their biggest struggle, but it's not. .  The thing you're missing is DISCIPLINE. Aka showing up long after the mood leaves you. Getting over your excuses and showing up because you have a bigger WHY. Doing what you'd say you would. .  For example:  Motivation: being in shape for your wedding, vacation, summer or a bikini. .  Discipline: making sacrifices such as a few meals/drinks out, waking up earlier, cooking your own meals, working out when you would rather do anything else. Investing in your health for the future. .  Motivation is sexy. Discipline is so unsexy it hurts but it leads to AMAZING rewards, satisfaction and achievement. . 👉🏻My motivation= I'll be in a bathing suit one month from today in Punta Cana with my team. . 👉🏻My discipline= emotionally I'm zoned out and rather cuddle my dog but I got my ass up to workout because my health is worth it. .
