Studies ✍🏼have shown that you are the most like the main 5 people 👥 you surround yourself with the most. And I believe this to be 💯% true. But I think something that people may not realize or maybe never even think 💭 about, is in 2017 that statistic HAS to include your social media 🤳🏼as well. My life changed (for the better) when I decided to rid my life of toxic people. 🗣🚫 I am a naturally outgoing, happy, joyful person, and therefore I refuse to be around those that are opposite. The same goes for my social media too. I follow pages/people that are inspiring, uplifting, funny and motivational. I will never understand wanting to follow people that are draining. I will never understand wanting to partake in negativity or surround yourself with those types of personalities. 🤷🏼♀️ The fact is, there is joy to be had for EVERYONE on this earth. "Joy" is a choice and it is an intentional action. 💁🏼 It isn't something that is a result of something else. Joy is something that you choose to have, exude and spread. So, I hope 🤞🏼and pray 🙏🏼 that I enrich people's lives, and never drain them. Because let's face it, there's enough already out there that is completely draining. 🙆🏼 #ChooseJoy ✌🏼
Good nutrition has changed my life. I started a journey with learning about what I ate and how it affected my body several years ago when my son had digestive issues and we had trouble finding answers. It became something more to me than just food. It's the strongest form of preventative medicine there is, and unfortunately we dont live in a society that really encourages that! But guess what? I am doing to teach you some of what I know as best I can! I started out just reading the ingredients and labels of what I was eating, googling, and sticking to mostly what I can grow or my husband can hunt. I am by no means an expert or know-it-all, but I do know a little something ;) (I am now a certified Paleo and Raw Food Nutritionist) BUT that actually has nothing to do with this group! I am taking it WAAY back to my first program ever, The 21 Day Fix, which has the most simple meal plan that started it all for me. I started eating MORE and weighing LESS - crazy how that happens! So I tried the new "Sous Vide" eggs today at Starbucks. They have a little more carbs than I usually like for one meal, but are a great option for on the go. I got it with a green tea with Splenda. They were FANTASTIC. . Nutrition (for two pieces): Calories-170, Fat-7g, Carbs-12g, Protein-13g.

I went out for lunch the other day and ordered this delicious Salmon with beans and salad. Have a good look at it. How would you make it more SP friendly? I took the skin off. Skin is fat. Even when the menu adds temptingly luscious words like "Crispy Skinned Salmon..." , be strong. Stick to your points budget. Be wise about the little choices you make every day. Confession time - i screwed up last night with an unplanned cheat meal 🙈 surprisingly i don't actually feel too guilty about it, I'm not perfect and i know every once in a while it will happen, right back on track today with a fridge full of fresh fruit and veg, just need to go and get some meats and then time to meal prep for the week ahead!

Sundays always make me feel so good for so many reasons. . First, it's my day to weigh in. I get to see if the scale reflects how much sweat and good choices I made in the past week. Sometimes, it moves like it should and other times, it can be stagnant. Luckily for me, this week showed every ounce of effort that I put forth. Anddddd, I'm down 10lbs already in 2017 👊🏻 . Secondly, it's my chance to kick the new week off on the right foot. It's about resetting my mind and then getting my workout in. There's something so satisfying about that first workout of the week that leaves you feeling accomplished. Add to that meal prepping to keep myself on track and I feel like I can tackle anything that's thrown at me throughout the next 7 days. . This journey isn't easy. There are temptations and days where we may not want to lace up my Nikes and run that mile or lift some weights, but I know that the way I will feel in three months from now, far outweighs whatever instant gratification I may get from eating badly or skipping a workout.
