Apparently I need to work on my positioning of my self timer 🤔 Today's wod was pretty much starfishing on the mat while I caught up with one of my best friends {by starfishing I mean literally lying sprawled out, not moving}. If you felt a little earthquake this morning don't panic!!!!! It was just me attempting to do Yoga Fix Extreme lol  I have shared before that balance is not my strong suit. But when I went over this morning it caught me off guard and I cracked up!!!! I have only ever done very beginner yoga so some of the moves today were a challenge. It's great because it gives me goals to shoot for next week 😊  Today I must have said "You're a crazy person!" To @autumncalabrese 100 times. But I was a lot more flexible than I thought I was. Another half marathon in the books, and I must say that feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line never gets old 😊. Here we go. Total transparency.  My before pics.  I will be honest, it's really disappointing that I am about 30 pounds heavier than this time last year, and about 4 pounds heavier than Jan 1.  But this is my starting point and all I can do now is make better choices and move forward. ----- One thing that helped keep me going when I lost my first 75 pounds was reminding myself what it felt like when I was 260.  I stopped feeling that way because I was making healthy choices and then I just kind of stopped working as hard because I felt better.  Well I felt all those feelings of being out of control, and tired and sluggish again this weekend even though I am still 50 pounds lighter.  So I'm planning on spending sometime today journaling about how I was feeling these last two weeks so I can refer back to it when I start getting lost again. ----- The other thing that really kept me motivated was rewards and tracking. I started with DISGUST. .I know that's brutal but that's where I was. It was more about who I was mentally but the physical was so much easier to focus on. I looked in the mirror for the first time in months and I saw someone who didn't even resemble my former self. I was tired, burned out, I had been mindlessly eating anything and everything, the ravages of 3 pregnancies and thyroid problems were evident.  But my husband?  He was standing behind me smiling, and wrapping his arms around my body. He loves me. He loved me for who I was AND who I had become.  But I couldn't get over it. I HAD to do something. Things were out of control and I still wasn't feeling 100%, but I HAD to do something.  After my thyroidectomy, there were days that I physically couldn't get off the couch or out of my bed but now, I was starting to feel a little closer to normal.  I always hated exercise. Who wants to torture themselves? I could eat whatever I wanted with minimal consequences but as time went on, those small choices added up.  Many of you who know me personally will say "you've always been beautiful! There's nothing wrong with you!" But somebody had to call BS. And nobody was going to do it but me.  You KNOW what I'm talking about.  We can be SO free with giving grace to others who are struggling saying "oh but you have young ones, it's so hard" but we are our own, worst critic. I knew it there was no excuse for not taking care of myself.  In the past six months I've done some soul searching and I made a pact with myself:  No more Excuses. No BS. No quitting.  It's been a bumpy ride but now? I've moved from being someone who's disgusted with myself to someone to someone who I'm proud of. And I hope that you can get there too.  It's a happy place, where failures happen, where it's ok to fall down, scrape up your hands and knees, and get back up! It's a place where cheats are welcome! It's a place of grace and growth! It's a place where we open up those places in our lives that scare us and deal with them....where no matter where you are on your journey, you know that there are others that are in the same boat with you!
