Today's #FitTip Look after your feet! Often overlooked in warmups and general strength & conditioning programs are the small intrinsic muscles of the feet Whilst the rest of our bodies grow stronger, footwear essentially puts a cap on the amount of training load/stimulus we can place on the muscles of the feet, and as a result, they become weak and de-conditioned over time relative to the rest of the body. This puts them at greater risk of injury, such as plantar fasciitis and calf/Achilles strains, especially if you do a lot of running, skipping or cardio 🏃 A simple way to start preparing these muscles for training is to simply roll over a tennis or lacrosse ball. Roll for about 30sec - 1min per foot during your warmup. There is no specific method, just apply pressure and feel the "knots" release. Stand Up Straight!!! Posture has forever been painted as a strict tight unmoving position, I think its time to change this picture. Good posture is the most fluid, balanced, tension free state the body could be in. Good posture allows all muscles to work together, reduce tension in tight muscles and muscles that may not of been working hard enough to pick up the slack (see what I did there)..... 😐. Good posture is muscular balance, when everything is working together efficiently, this means that good posture means different things for different body positions. Yes there are marker for standing postion but what about the other 359.9degrees of motion? What do you do when your whole body aches? Attempt a HIIT circuit! And yes I attempted but I didn't succeed, my shoulder was giving me too much grief and I didn't want to injure it more. Listening to your body is so important if something doesn't feel right DON'T keep going because you'll end up far worse off! Trust me! I still managed to get through 3 rounds starting with 10 reps, 8 reps and then 6 reps: - Chin-ups - Dips (with 10kg plate) - Snatches (10kg DB) - Bicep Curl/ shoulder press (8kg DB) - Frog Jump Burpees - Reverse Crunches (10 reps all rounds) - Bicycle Crunches ( 20 reps all rounds) @revofitness . . . . . #fitness#fitspo#activeinperth#girlsmakeyourmove#perthfitfam#hiit#exercise#workout
