There is a life outside of training and tracking food. For the first time in years I feel like I have been able to enjoy time with family and friends without being obsessed with training or eating. In not being so rigid I think I look and feel better. Balance is a mental test and it's hard as hell to fight for that but it was the 🔑 to making changes and long term results for me. Box squat gains. Love how my quads pop now. Going to be doing two leg days per week, one more quad centered, one more hamstring centered. Today however was a bit all over the place, so need to work out a better plan.  Today did: 100 rep leg press 4 sets box squats 2 sets split squats (just wanted to make sure last week's miracle wasn't a fluke) 3 sets hip thrusters 3 sets on cable kickbacks, adductor and abductor - by this time I was pushing so much that I was sweating buckets!! 3 sets good mornings 2 sets single leg deadlifts 4 sets, 2 position hamstring curls  While I have gained weight recently, I know the number on the scale doesn't tell everything. Cardio today! When I first began my journey, all I did was endless amounts of steady state cardio on the elliptical. It was boring. It was long. It was 45 minutes every day that I hated. Since taking up weight lifting, the way I look at cardio has completely changed. Now I do some form of HIIT every cardio day. It's fast paced, it's entertaining, it keeps me engaged (not zoning out while I move pedals and pray for the time to almost be up), and it EXHAUSTS me physically. When you start to lean forward when you bring your leg back, you're no longer doing the exercise properly. This was kind of fun. I rarely go over 135 for my Romanian deadlifts and worked all that way up to 165 today. Leg day.. top set of squats another single at 215. Getting comfortable under the bar before I go for 225. Some pause squats and stationary lunges as well.
