Sooo I decided to purchase the new Apple iWatch out of the blue earlier this week! I tell you what though, @kayla_itsines #sweat app is AMAZING on this device, I love it! I can literally do everything from the watch while I'm out, no need to even get the phone out! I did week 3 arms and abs on it yesterday and I don't know what I ever did without it! I've linked it up to iPhones health app, my fitness pal and even sweat! It's tracking my heart rate, steps, everything! Can you tell im happy with my spontaneous purchase!? Little update: Yesterday I was so tired of night shift the night before that I couldn't do a resistance training as I would have collapsed or worse...given up. So, I've decided to "officially" start my week today and have done a little pre- LISS session yesterday and my first resistance - LEGS, my nightmare - today ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰ And it was as bad as I remembered haha Week 1 never gets easier for me even though I have done the week 1 workouts when I was doing the BBG just every now and then, when I had no time to go to the gym!! Yes!!๐Ÿ™Œ The past year has been all about healing for me. I started this fitness insta almost a year ago with my first round of bbg to keep myself accountable. When I first  started working out my mindset was all wrong. How fast can I get skinny? Can I run this race without training enough? This lead to injuries, disappointments, and negativity. Throughout the past year I've learned that on top of a busy schedule, it's possible to slowly incorporate a healthy lifestyle which in turn creates a positive mindset and healthy self image. I'm much more cautious of my form to prevent injuries and make realistic and achievable goals. A healthy me, has healed not just my body but my mind and perspective.  So ladies, if you're down in the dumps this new year and wanting to make a change. Start slow. Take breaks but don't give up. You can't change a million things in your lifestyle right away. Just start and keep at it! ๐Ÿ’ช

I just tried a fitness class at my schools gym for the first time this morning and LOVED it!  I took the 45 min HIIT class...idk why I thought this was a good idea the day before bbg full body ๐Ÿ˜… and after the class I hit the weight room for a little and did legs! I'm a little behind on the #yogarevolution but it was so good to come home and do this after a stressful day at work. After every practice I sleep so well and I love taking on board everything Adriene says. Her comments about being less reactive really struck me as I feel like I've been taking things people say or do too personally when they are not always meant in that way. I've been really unhappy in my job lately but I feel like there's a way forward for me now. Today I am strong Today I upped my weights and Today I pushed through the struggle ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ I have learned in yoga that sometime being uncomfortable is where the magic happens. Not uncomfortable like "ouch this physically hurts" but uncomfortable like "this is hard and outside my comfort zone" ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ That is where the magic happens people !! Good morning!  Had to fight hard to make it through arms yesterday.  Felt awesome after i did it...played a little twister following with my little boy.  That was interesting and a felt like it was somewhat of a good little mini resistance work out.  We proceeded to using knex....I thought it would be a quick, fun project together..., two or so hours later we got our magical airplane ride...๐Ÿ˜† oh yeah baby!  We did it!  Make it a great one guys! Tonight will be liss...hopefully there is a break from the rain so I can take it outside. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Third week complete with @vanessa_simfit !!! I have to tell you, this is such an amazing learning experience. I am not deprived, I can choose what I want to eat! However, it has taught me balance and nutrition. Sure, I could have a spoonful of peanut butter or a hostess cupcake, which would satisfy me for a whole 2 min- or I could make something clean and hearty, full of lean protein and veggies! I've noticed how much less interested I am in indulging, how much my strength is improving, and how I'm really not focusing on the scale so much in a weight way, but more so in a 'trends' way. I can logically see how my weight will fluctuate based on certain aspects of my intake, such as the amount of water, dairy or sodium. Pre workout, Post workout snack/breakfast  X pre: was a tablespoon of almond butter and good ol' espresso X post: egg muffin (prepped) made with Applegate Apple Chicken Sausage, carmelized onions, sweet potato (from @moms.can.be.fit's Whole30 menus on her blog) the only difference is I made them into muffins to make them more portable. Hi ladies! I haven't been the greatest with workouts this week because of friends visiting and staying late at work ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ I am hoping our work year end doesn't kick my butt. Last year I didn't get to the gym hardly at all because of staying at work late. I am determined to not have that happen to me again this year. I do have to say eating has been better this week. I have made some healthy swaps here and there! I also had a slice of the @wellshire paleo turkey bacon and some fresh yummy berries. My breakfasts and lunches seem to be going great and then I'm kind of going heavy on the carbs for dinner- need to switch that around! Tonight I'm planning on making zoodles with chicken sausage and red sauce. Kind of excited for week 2 arms and abs later ! Woke up early this morning and since my son didn't need to be dropped off at school until 8am, I did a quick 25-min HIIT workout in my pjs.  I always have a hard time working out first thing in the morning and today was not any different.  Towards the end, I started getting lightheaded and dizzy.  I pushed through the workout and drank my protein shake immediately after so I feel much better now.  Maybe next time, I'll have a pre-workout snack first and see if that helps. We still do transformations on Thursday, right? Left is three years ago, 125 pounds of "what's muscle tone?" and just generally not eating because I was depressed. Center is about six months ago, right before I started BBG - back then, it was all cardio, all the time, with a little barre thrown in for resistance. I was afraid of bulking, and was upset that it was taking so long to lose weight - I think I was about 130 here. You've seen the photo on the right before. . .125 with BBG, strength, barre, and running, focused on eating more protein and healthy fats, and generally happier. Fun fact: I actually struggle to see much of a physical difference in these photos (sure, the arms are different between the left and the right, but I feel like that has more to do with angle), but I know that on the left, I'm wearing a dress size 8, and on the right, it's a size 0. What I'm driving at, here, is that sometimes, we're oblivious to change, but putting in the effort does make a difference, even when we can't see it.

Currently super stressed from midterms next week and I am sleep deprived. It becomes so easy to look at other people and be jealous because of what they have (looks, intelligence, things, etc) and it becomes easy to be consumed by this envy for those things that we start to neglect ourselves. It's really all about the process. What's so sweet about the process is that you learn your body inside and out, you learn how to treat it. Best of it all, it heals, which in turn causes healing in you. Yes, work hard. Yes, be diligent, yes, do those squats! But don't push yourself so hard today because it's about discovering your true self whilst working toward your goals. Love you ladies!! My heart is doing a lot better. I went to see a nutritionist and man did it help me! I recommend it to everyone. I'm also going to see a heart specialist come Feb 1st! This is one of the only full-body shots that exists of me at the time (and it's not even that revealing), because I NEVER let anyone take them. I was in denial of my weight, because I was in denial of my depression. I was at a job where my 'boss' (who was completely incompetent at her job) was having an affair with the owner of the company. She felt the need to constantly piss on her territory, so she did what she could to throw EVERYONE under the bus to make herself look good, because she knew she could get away with it. She made me miserable. I woke up every day a nervous wreck for what was in store, and would cry almost every drive home from work after a day of being stomped on. I started doing things to change ME, in hopes to make THEM better. I wanted this job so bad, because I had worked so hard in college for it. I lopped a foot of hair off (in hopes to make me bolder - didn't work). I began compromising my dignity to fit in. I was eating SO emotionally, and drinking nightly. But no matter what I did, it was boy's club, and she was the only girl allowed in (and I was not about to give head to get ahead ๐Ÿ˜) So, I quit. No job lined up, no plan, nothing. I realized life is too damn short to waste away being unhappy. I'm worth more than that. We all are. It was terrifying, and of course, it was the best decision I could have made. I've regained my confidence, and am happier than I've ever been. I totally flipped my eating habits and began #bbg which was SO transformative. LONG WINDED MORAL - choose happiness ALWAYS. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR MENTAL OR EMOTIONAL HEALTH for ANYONE or ANYTHING. Life is scary shit, but life also goes on. Had to switch my arm/ab day with LISS yesterday, but this morning I woke up and crushed wk 2 arms/abs. Also commandors I have not missed you at all! Who else struggles with those? โœ… ARMS AND ABS WEEK 2! What do you listen to when you workout? If you want listen to new workout songs, I suggest this @spotify playlist arranged by Kayla herself which I read from @vogueaustralia . . Might have made a few modifications like for the Mt Climbers (4) + Push Up (1), I just did 20/30 Mt Climbers and did 15 "girl's" push ups after cos I couldn't do a full push up. However, I am chuffed cos I successfully challenged myself to do each circuit two times per round! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿปโค and I can do more push ups before taking rest.
