Yes!!🙌 The past year has been all about healing for me. I started this fitness insta almost a year ago with my first round of bbg to keep myself accountable. When I first started working out my mindset was all wrong. How fast can I get skinny? Can I run this race without training enough? This lead to injuries, disappointments, and negativity. Throughout the past year I've learned that on top of a busy schedule, it's possible to slowly incorporate a healthy lifestyle which in turn creates a positive mindset and healthy self image. I'm much more cautious of my form to prevent injuries and make realistic and achievable goals. A healthy me, has healed not just my body but my mind and perspective. So ladies, if you're down in the dumps this new year and wanting to make a change. Start slow. Take breaks but don't give up. You can't change a million things in your lifestyle right away. Just start and keep at it! 💪
I just tried a fitness class at my schools gym for the first time this morning and LOVED it! I took the 45 min HIIT class...idk why I thought this was a good idea the day before bbg full body 😅 and after the class I hit the weight room for a little and did legs! I think it's safe to say I won't be able to move tomorrow lol. Happy Friday Eve, now go kill whatever workout you have planned for today!!!😋🙌🤓

Good morning! Had to fight hard to make it through arms yesterday. Felt awesome after i did it...played a little twister following with my little boy. That was interesting and a felt like it was somewhat of a good little mini resistance work out. We proceeded to using knex....I thought it would be a quick, fun project together..., two or so hours later we got our magical airplane ride...😆 oh yeah baby! We did it! Make it a great one guys! Tonight will be liss...hopefully there is a break from the rain so I can take it outside. 💪🏻
Third week complete with @vanessa_simfit !!! I have to tell you, this is such an amazing learning experience. I am not deprived, I can choose what I want to eat! However, it has taught me balance and nutrition. Sure, I could have a spoonful of peanut butter or a hostess cupcake, which would satisfy me for a whole 2 min- or I could make something clean and hearty, full of lean protein and veggies! I've noticed how much less interested I am in indulging, how much my strength is improving, and how I'm really not focusing on the scale so much in a weight way, but more so in a 'trends' way. I can logically see how my weight will fluctuate based on certain aspects of my intake, such as the amount of water, dairy or sodium. Hi ladies! I haven't been the greatest with workouts this week because of friends visiting and staying late at work 😟 I am hoping our work year end doesn't kick my butt. Last year I didn't get to the gym hardly at all because of staying at work late. I am determined to not have that happen to me again this year. I do have to say eating has been better this week. I have made some healthy swaps here and there! Definitely not macro friendly, but, I think it was @cguentz.gofit that recently talked in her stories about how it's okay for a couple of meals a week to not be tracked, but instead enjoyed for enjoyment's sake (because, as much as we like to pretend otherwise, counting every calorie and macro does take a mental toll 😓). I always get so dehydrated after night shifts even when I drink a shed load of water so having come to the end of three I'm looking forward to munching on and getting brain freeze from these frozen @fageuk yoghurt cups! 😜I'm so pleased I've stuck to week 2 completely this week and working out in between sleeping and shifts has given me so much energy!

New breakfast/desert obsession : Healthy pancake 🥞with Lindt's dark chocolate with sea salt 🍫🍫 OMG I could die for it and eat it all day long ! And cuz I found a good pancake recipe.. I'll share it with you! For 1 pancake : 2 egg whites, 2 dominican bananas (little ones around 60g banana in total), 10g of flour of your choice (I tried it with whole rice, coconut and oats flour🙏🏼), 1/4 tbsp of baking powder. We still do transformations on Thursday, right? Left is three years ago, 125 pounds of "what's muscle tone?" and just generally not eating because I was depressed. Center is about six months ago, right before I started BBG - back then, it was all cardio, all the time, with a little barre thrown in for resistance. I was afraid of bulking, and was upset that it was taking so long to lose weight - I think I was about 130 here. You've seen the photo on the right before. . .125 with BBG, strength, barre, and running, focused on eating more protein and healthy fats, and generally happier. Fun fact: I actually struggle to see much of a physical difference in these photos (sure, the arms are different between the left and the right, but I feel like that has more to do with angle), but I know that on the left, I'm wearing a dress size 8, and on the right, it's a size 0. What I'm driving at, here, is that sometimes, we're oblivious to change, but putting in the effort does make a difference, even when we can't see it.
Oh my gosh girls, i m just having a really bad week🙁 it started really good with a perfect liss session but tuesday i had a really bad and busy day at work and didn't do anything. From wedenesday till saturday i m away from home to be in university for my master. So i ist the hole day and don t have a room or time to do any exercise... i eat bad and feel bad... hoprfully i ll get back in on the weekend. Currently super stressed from midterms next week and I am sleep deprived. It becomes so easy to look at other people and be jealous because of what they have (looks, intelligence, things, etc) and it becomes easy to be consumed by this envy for those things that we start to neglect ourselves. We need to remember to love ourselves because we are exactly who we are supposed to be and we are all we really have at the end of the day💕 I hope you all have a wonderful day #loveyourself
No matter where you are in your journey today, you can look back and say, "I'm glad I started!" We often get so caught up in how much more we need to do to reach our goals. It's really all about the process. What's so sweet about the process is that you learn your body inside and out, you learn how to treat it. Best of it all, it heals, which in turn causes healing in you. Yes, work hard. Yes, be diligent, yes, do those squats! But don't push yourself so hard today because it's about discovering your true self whilst working toward your goals. Love you ladies!! My heart is doing a lot better. I went to see a nutritionist and man did it help me! I recommend it to everyone. I'm also going to see a heart specialist come Feb 1st! ⬅️ T H R O W B A C K ⬅️ . The photo on the left was taken at my office Christmas party a little over a year ago. This is one of the only full-body shots that exists of me at the time (and it's not even that revealing), because I NEVER let anyone take them. I was in denial of my weight, because I was in denial of my depression. I was at a job where my 'boss' (who was completely incompetent at her job) was having an affair with the owner of the company. She felt the need to constantly piss on her territory, so she did what she could to throw EVERYONE under the bus to make herself look good, because she knew she could get away with it. She made me miserable. I woke up every day a nervous wreck for what was in store, and would cry almost every drive home from work after a day of being stomped on. I started doing things to change ME, in hopes to make THEM better. I wanted this job so bad, because I had worked so hard in college for it. I lopped a foot of hair off (in hopes to make me bolder - didn't work). I began compromising my dignity to fit in. I was eating SO emotionally, and drinking nightly. But no matter what I did, it was boy's club, and she was the only girl allowed in (and I was not about to give head to get ahead 😏) So, I quit. No job lined up, no plan, nothing. I realized life is too damn short to waste away being unhappy. I'm worth more than that. We all are. It was terrifying, and of course, it was the best decision I could have made. I've regained my confidence, and am happier than I've ever been. I totally flipped my eating habits and began #bbg which was SO transformative. LONG WINDED MORAL - choose happiness ALWAYS. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR MENTAL OR EMOTIONAL HEALTH for ANYONE or ANYTHING. Life is scary shit, but life also goes on. ✅ ARMS AND ABS WEEK 2! What do you listen to when you workout? If you want listen to new workout songs, I suggest this @spotify playlist arranged by Kayla herself which I read from @vogueaustralia . . Might have made a few modifications like for the Mt Climbers (4) + Push Up (1), I just did 20/30 Mt Climbers and did 15 "girl's" push ups after cos I couldn't do a full push up. However, I am chuffed cos I successfully challenged myself to do each circuit two times per round! 💪🏻❤ and I can do more push ups before taking rest.
