H Y G G E|| After a gorgeous day of sharing Ashtanga classes in Ealing and North London and planning workshops the evening is all about the Hygge. Finding a balance between moving the body and feeding the soul helps to keep the mind happy!
This photo was taken 7 years ago. I was practicing under senior Ashtanga teachers John & Lucy Scott. Undertaking a yoga and/or meditation practice may have seemingly unrelated effects on our life. After practicing for a while, we may become more aware of how the environment affect us. We may notice that we approach situations in a different manner, and unnoticed things may come to the surface—we start to tune in on a different level. This has some challenging results. Sometimes this may bring about new awareness about ourselves that are painful. This is part of the practice. Our relationships to friends, pastimes, food and work may shift as a result of prolonged practice. Changes in the body evoke changes in the mind, and then manifest in the external environment. We can allow this process to unfold, or we can resist it. If we choose resistance, we will probably struggle with obstacles. Sometimes obstacles are physical: muscle weakness, tightness, and injury. Sometimes it seems impossible to find the time to practice. Other times, obstacles originate in the mind: lethargy, pride, and negativity. Obstacles are a gift because they force us to come up with creative solutions; they induce flexibility by making us take a different approach. Looked at another way, obstacles are the source of wisdom. The best way to deal with this type of mental or emotional challenge is to continue to practice, so that the natural evolution of healing may take place. Slow down, pay more attention, and be open to new perspectives. #tbt#AshtangaYoga#JohnScott#KeepPracticing#AquanimousYoga
"That is, that we may be mutually encouraged, by each other's faith, both yours and mine." - Romans 1:12 Love this verse & looking forward to studying Romans, encouraging each other, and pushing each other to serve the Lord well tonight with my D-group tonight. ❤️ In Romans, Paul writes about mutually encouraging each other. It is so important to do life with other people and people who can help you strive to love the Lord and live your life for the Lord. It is amazing!
I said YES! I'm so blessed to be marrying @wishemt. I couldn't ask for anything more, and he knew exactly how to ask me. Winter Classic wearing my beloved @jhs_32 jersey. Although my Blackhawks lost, I got the win of a lifetime. #winterclassic2017#engaged#johnscott
