An absolutely brutal shoulder workout I did towards the end of my training yesterday. I'm utilizing #fst7 here and then at the end posing the muscle to force as much blood as I can into the part that I just trained. _ Im only using 15lb DBs for this exercise and I did 3 total sets. I usually shoulder press anywhere from 30-35lbs for reps but this isn't about weight, it's about volume and forcing the muscle to grow. Sometimes we reach a plateau, utilizing FST-7 can force you passed that and ensure you reach maximum growth. _ How To: Grab 2 DB of about half of max weight you can do. Put both arms up and only Press 1 at a time. You're going to do right7,left7,6,6,5,5,4,4,3,3,2,2,1,1. This ends up being 21 total reps per side once finished. Try to keep the non working arm straight up without letting that elbow bend. Push through and feel zeeeee burn baby. Once completed pose the muscle as hard as you can and just feel the blood rushing through. This is a game changer 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 _ I incorporated a ton of different styles of training in my session last night. Ranging from time under tension, burning out, heavy presses, etc. Its been a hot minute since I've recorded an entire workout and posted to my YouTube. Today was hard. I felt really uncomfortable and like I was 300 lbs again. I struggled with wanting to quit early because of this, but also wanting to do extra work. Oddly enough, I still felt strong, the weight moved really well and I was able to go heavier than the last #shoulders and #triceps workout. So it was weird. At the end of the day, it's done and I did add some extra sets for my shoulders and even did some #biceps because #everydayisarmday . 💪🏻😂 Followed all that up with 20 min of #cardio and even though I still feel weird, I feel good knowing that I didn't give up. ✌🏻
This may not apply to many of you reading this and that’s fine. But to those who truly wish to maximise their results and especially for those with competitive aspirations, make sure to leave no stone unturned when it comes to your own progress. I’m not recommending you obsess over minutiae but understanding the role of certain minutiae in your progress is going to be incredibly important.
Day 9 of #RestartWithYoga is #chaturanga ☀️ Does it make me a bit strange that this is one of my favourite poses? 🤔 When I first started doing the full pose without my knees down I found it so hard it used to make me feel sick! So, I really worked on trying to get the alignment right & engaging the whole underside of my body to help myself - as well as keeping the shoulders broad & the elbows tucked in. My husband came up with the idea of progressive training to help me... So; on day one I did one Chaturanga with good form... then, on day two I did two.... Until I got up to ten. Then I started over again, but did it slower. Let's talk about weight and the dreaded weighing scales! I'm quite a bit heavier in the gym photo than I am in the photo on the right, I'm comparing the progress of my arm to show the difference of how your body will respond to calorie consumption and certain types of training. My #calorie intake is considerably more than what it was about 4 years ago, but I'm not fat in either of these photos! I eat clean roughly about 80% of the time (I'm a mother to 3 kids so it's completely unrealistic for me to have a super strict diet) I lift weights 4-5 times a week and I don't really drink much alcohol. My calorie intake is about 2300 and I try to be mindful of my macro balance. The problem with weighing scales is that all it measures is weight, it doesn't measure body fat or lean muscle, I had to increase my calories, switch from endless cardio to weight training to change my physique from skinny to more of an athletic build. I often talk to my clients about putting the weighing scales away, for those wanting to lose weight, it should be at a steady rate to make sure it's the right weight that's coming off and staying off, because it's #fat and not #weight that we want to lose, and we want to keep our #leanmuscle from dropping. The best way to monitor you #fitnessjourney is with body measurements taken with a tape measure and of course photos like mine, because they are the things you can trust, weighing scales are misleading. When you start to train with #weights you will no doubt get more hungry so you'll need to feed your #muscles with good nutritious food and for me, who thoroughly loves eating, well that's just music to my ears. Parce qu’il faut se l’avouer, les salles de musculation sont encore aujourd’hui fréquentées en majorité par les hommes. C’est une source d’appréhension pour beaucoup de femmes d’être dans un environnement parfois peu chaleureux. La peur du regard de l’autre, la peur de se sentir fixée, l’inconfort provoqué par des regards parfois trop insistants. Qu’on se le dise, au début, c’est intimidant ! Il faudra surement plusieurs années avant qu’une parité s’installe en termes de fréquentation dans les salles de musculation. Et vous n’allez certainement pas attendre plusieurs années avant d’avoir le corps de vos rêves ! La musculation présente le singularité d’être composée de phases d’exercices, et de phases de repos. Durant ces temps de repos, il est fréquent que l’on se retrouve sans s’en rendre compte à regarder autour de soi, à observer les autres pratiquants. Tout le monde le fait : les femmes, les hommes, et c’est aussi comme cela que l’on apprend ! Il ne faut pas prendre chaque regard comme une agression, et s’imaginer que l’on vous déshabille – littéralement – du regard ou que chaque coup d’oeil est une critique. Bien sur un homme peut « regarder » une femme pendant un exercice (le squat…). Rapidement, avec des regards approfondis et pendant que personne ne regarde, il peut prendre un « snap mental » et puis il continue sa vie. on l’a tous fait soyons francs. Si cela est discret et fait dans le respect, cela ne dérange pas. Mais il y a celui qui ne sait pas épeler le mot « subtil ». Il regarde de manière appuyé toutes les fesses qu’il croise et fait peur à tout le monde… Et ceux-la malheureusement (qui sont une faible minorité) discréditent l’ensemble. Après les clichés s’installent et donnent une mauvais image, et c’est bien dommage… Si la majorité des regards ne sont ni méchants ni déplacés, il arrive comme partout, que certains individus soient dans l’abus. Mais si cela devait se produire, n’ayez pas peur de dire aux petits rigolos qu’ils dépassent les limites. C’est aussi en vous imposant que vous gagnerez le respect des autres. Alors les filles votre avis ? Et messieurs n’hésitez pas non plus à participer ! Keep going ! 😊👊

You need to be able to say to yourself that you can do it and you are worth it. Making excuses only hurts yourself.
