I did this last year 22 variations for 22 days. Going to try and keep that theme this time through. Day 4: One arm push ups. Happy that I did more this year than last. Did 12 and had to finish on my knees. The other thing I've noticed from last year is how much thicker and stronger my core has gotten. Constant and neverending improvement #CANI . I was nominated by @gigglesocr and @emilyherc I'm not going to nominate anyone but challenge all that see this to accept the challenge. If you do accept tag me. Do 22 push-ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for combat veterans & PTSD. There are 22 vets a day that are committing suicide, and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue and to remind them there are people care. The rules are simple: * Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day. * Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted (from your knees) push-ups or that you have to stop and take a break that's fine but try to get them all done in one video. *Everyday you must nominate a different person. Try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it. * And finally, have fun with this. This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and its sad that so many veterans feel that suicide is the only way. . #22kill#22pushups#22killpushupchallenge#pushup#pushupvariation#pushupvariations#pushupvariation#22varations#igfitness#igfit#instafitness#instafit#ptsdawareness#ptsd#gb#gymnasticsbodies#gst#gymnasticsstrengthtraining
People will and continue to blame their genetics for developing X disease or X condition. And doctors continue to reaffirm that theory and use the genetic fallback excuse as a result of narrow-mindedness, ignorance or pride maintenance. Unless you are born with a disease or disorder or even was dealt a bad hand in the womb (which comes back to the mother’s lifestyle) it’s not a genetic issue; it’s a lifestyle issue. _ Sure, you can fall into that 8% and have abnormal, sub-optimally functioning genes, but still, your DNA isn’t out to get you and make you ill. It’s sustaining you so you live at a high level. Your phenotype or how your genes engage with the outside world is controlled by you. Metaphorically speaking, the genetics load the gun, your environment pulls the trigger. _ This is epigenetics - genes influenced by a myriad of factors like environmental toxins, chemicals, drugs, your gut bacteria, and of course diet and stress; all of which change the expression of genes which can degrade health or promote it. Simply, the thoughts we think, our quality of nutrients and food intake, degree of immune burden, and habits we perform daily have the greatest impact on our disease risk. _ The issue becomes more of “how much” and “how long” of this exposure to the inauspicious genetic triggers. So, don’t be troubled so much by your family history. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmunity, neuropsychiatric disorders - these are epigenetic diseases. They don’t happen overnight - it’s a result of consistent, chronic habits. If you want to avoid this, as I imagine you do, stop playing the victim “genetic” card and start being proactive today by taking preventative health measures. # #epigenetics#health#medicine#nutrition#lifestyle#functionalmedicine#naturopathicmedicine#iifym#igfitness#instafit#exercise#fitnessmotivation#fitspiration#fitsporation#fitsp#diet#disease#fit#fitfam#fitness#girlswholift#girlswithmuscle#fitgirl#fitlife
An easy way to balance your upper body trainings is to balance out your horizontal and vertical pulls and pushes. A good start is to hit a set of rows for every set of benchpress and hit a set of chinups for every set of overhead press. Just check the direction you work in and make sure you work both ways! Here's axle bar ohp paired with weighted chinups. Goodnight!
In keeping up with my recent posts about eating foods with higher volume, here is an idea I got from @fit_sarah177. At first, adding zucchini to your oats sounds a little disgusting. But, you don't actually taste it and it adds so much more volume to your food. Like I said in a few of my previous posts, one of the biggest keys to sticking to your diet is feeling full and decreasing hunger. This will severely decrease the chances of you cheating on your diet and increase your chances of success. Whenever you can find a way to eat more food while adding a negligible amount of calories, I recommend you do so.

I don't have any good recent pics right now since my body is still trying to fight something off it's hard for me to even get out of bed so here's a #flashbackfriday#flexfriday . I'm aiming for leaner than this this summer, this little setback will not change my motivation to get my body where I want it to be. We all face obstacles but only you can decide how you come out from those obstacles, either let yourself go or work harder for it, and I will def be working harder. #neversettle
