I let myself go far beyond what I'm used to. I came off of prep and and said "f*ck it" and though I'm not at my heaviest I'm certainly at my highest body fat percentage and I am not ok with it. However, am I going to sit here and piss and moan and feel sorry for myself? HELL NO! I am going to pick myself up and get back at it. Whether I feel like lifting or not. Whether I feel like eating clean or not. I know I'm not happy until I'm healthy and healthy is what I will be. I don't need to be 4% bf. I need to be me. Where I feel happy and comfortable. There isn't a number for that, no weight or percentage. It's a feeling and that's what you need to find in yourself, your happy place. Forget the scale, forget the caliper. #throwbackthursday ⬅️ Remember where you came from. It's not easy for me to maintain a constant positive attitude and to project this air of momentum and drive... I often find that Instagram is a hard place and people can make you feel really low or inferior. 😞 I also often rely on others to make me feel successful or like I'm achieving and that's a flaw within myself.. Anyway, 🎻 sob story aside I know that in the last few months I've achieved amazing things and I can only get better as I continue to progress. The arrogance and shitty attitude of some people on here has dented my confidence one or two many times before but I always find a way to ignore their crap and boost myself back up ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Besides 🍑 gains, band work is amazing for actually strengthening your glutes and helping to build a better mind to muscle connection! . Our bodies are amazing and generally respond to how we desire them to move. The thing is, they do this despite our weakness. When certain muscles aren't strong enough to help out, different muscles take over to compensate for weaknesses. For me those muscles are my quads. . This is why doing band work several times a week, especially prior to heavy leg days, has helped me to build a greater mind to muscle connection. This means my glutes are actually participating when I do my leg day exercises! My face in this video says it all🔥! . In turn, my lifts have gotten better, my knee and hip pain has decreased and I no longer feel pain in my lower back when performing certain exercises. . Don't just go through the motions of booty work. If you aren't feeling things, stop. Make changes, reassess your set up and body position. It took me over a year to properly feel my glutes when I hip thrust. #FrustrationLevel100 so watch videos and ask people but also allocate time to experiment and see what ever so slight changes make an exercise work best for you! . I recommend following @bretcontreras1 and @katiecrewe for awesome glute workouts and tips♥. . Yesterday I was at a breaking point where my body felt like it was giving up. I hit a weak point where I thought to myself is this all worth it... But then I reminded myself why I am doing this. I have been working so hard to get to where I'm at today so why give up just because your having one bad day? It's all about the willpower you have in you to overcome these hard obstacles. In order to be successful you will hit these platforms that make you feel like you can't surpass the problems you are facing. But that's when you got to keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. Why you started this in the first place. It's not for fun and games. It's for the experience, to learn, to grow, and become who you want to be. It's challenging of course, no one said it was going to be easy to win or get what you want but when you succeed through all of this... you will appreciate everything a lot more because you worked hard for it. You deserve it. You earned it. Don't let the negative stuff take over you. Be positive. Have faith. Stay strong throughout this journey you are taking on. I tell myself this stuff all the time 💟 don't give up.
