This is hands down the best piece of advice I can give any newly diagnosed patient. #Juicing extracts massive amounts of #nutrients from produce, without you having to eat several pounds of it a day. When you chew food, you're essentially juicing it in your mouth by breaking it down into liquid form and breaking open the cell walls so that the nutrients can be absorbed by your body. The particles that can't be broken down by your teeth pass through. So the better you chew your food before you swallow, the more nutrients you're able to absorb. Juicing releases 90% of the nutrients in food, which is about 3x better than what you can do with your teeth.
For those who aren't familiar with this oddly shaped device, let me enlighten you. This is a tongue scraper and I'm gonna give you some awesome reasons why you should own one. Tongue scraping is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that removes bacteria, food debris, fungi and dead cells from your tongue. There are so many other good reasons to use one everyday and the best part is, by removing all that gunk your tongue pores will open up and enhance your taste buds. I know, awesome! The one I use is copper but you can get them in other forms. Anyways that was just a tip I thought I would share with you. You can find them at most natural food stores or on amazon.ca. Are you feeling that summer time sadness? Winter blues? If you've been feeling depressed and/or lacking energy and motivation chances are you need some of that sunshine vitamin in your life, vitamin D! Depression is a symptom/side effect of something going on inside our bodies, just like when someone has a food allergy and has a reaction when that food is consumed, our body has many ways of warning us that something is wrong we just need to decode the message so to speak! It's hard to imagine getting vitamins from the sun, but it's true! When people say they have the winter blues what they're really saying is they're lacking vitamin D, they just might not even know it. Since there's less sunlight in the winter it's easy to see how we could be lacking vitamin D, so before the label yourself depressed got out and get yourself some liquid sunshine 🌞 I highly recommend the liquid form of vitamin D, since it's easy for the body to absorb and the dosages are more accurate each time taking it (pill form has different dosages per pill on average) A good starting point is 4000 IU a day (2000 in the AM and again in the PM) you may need to increase. If you're still not sure if you are getting enough you can always get your blood level checked. And just remember, summer time is slowly, but surely on its way! Just after I quit my job as a University psychologist, I flew to Paris to launch my international coaching business. I was that once exhilarated and a little terrified. This factor is woven into their personalities. However, there's another factor of personality, conscientiousness or work ethic, that overrides some women's inclination to explore, trailblazer, and discover. So they find themselves nearly overwhelmed by obligation, responsibility, and duty. Until they uncover the truth about who they are, and remember that they were designed to travel, too. I first came to the practice of yoga in 2010. I was unhappy, I was struggling with finding my self worth and I was in an unhappy relationship where I was not valued. In 2011 I became deeply committed to my practice and my own transformation. I studied the principles of yoga and I got on my mat everyday sometimes twice a day. I had finally found the thing my soul had been craving for so long. This practice gave me new lenses to see myself and the world through. My self doubt slowly melted away, my body image steadily improved month by month, my negative self talk began to dissipate, and my relationships changed. The people in my life who did not see my value were no longer apart of my life. I was meeting new people who enriched my life in ways I didn't think were possible. All because of the practice of yoga and my commitment to being the best student I could be. Because of the amazing transformation I had It is my wish to be able to share this incredible gift with others. It is also why I am deeply saddened by yoga in the west being only about asana and leaving out all the other beautiful gifts yoga has to offer! Just made this up this morning! Having a newborn and dealing with diaper blow-outs, I'm doing lots of laundry. This works great to get messy stains out without a ton of extra effort. In a 2oz glass bottle: Fill halfway with distilled water Add 5 drops Lemon essential oil Fill the rest of the way with OnGuard laundry detergent. Shake well before each use. Spray on stain and scrub in. Let dry and then wash!
