To those of us who have become so absorbed into this dunya that we have become slaves to the creation rather than the creator. To those of us who's actions have been drained of their meanings and sincerity. To those of us who's minds and hearts have become cold, hard and empty in the absence of our Lord. Go about your day remembering that you could do what the most pious does, you could spend hours upon hours sat upon a prayer mat to the point where you forget what it feels like to be sat upon solid ground, you could spend hours upon hours with your fingers bent rolling the beads of tasbeeh to the point where it aches you to stretch out those fingers. But remember. Remember that if you ever reject someone seeking your help, if you ever turn your back on someone who had been so drained of hope but was restored with that hope at the sight of you, the castle you have been building in Jannah will be demolished within the blink of your eye. And your prayers? Ask yourself. Who are you praying to? Do you bow down in sujood to that uncle you've been trying to impress sat in the same room as you who's daughter you've been wishing to marry, or do you bow down to your Creator who has the power to make that marriage possible? Who are you doing takbeer to? Do you really mean Allah is great, or do you mean your reputation and image is great? WHAT reputation and image? The reputation and image that will save you from the spitting flames of Jahannam? Who will you stand before in completely weakness on the day of reckoning? Those people you've been trying to impress and gain recognition and acceptance from? Wallah. See if they will save you on the day. See if the only one who will save you won't instead be He who you have been taking as a fool. Wait and see.
