How many adults in or pushing their forties are on NO prescriptions? Apparently this is UNcommon!  Joseph and I ONLY take Plexus products 😊 I have seen so many posts from various companies promoting weight loss. The last thing we need are more weight loss systems, weight loss products, or weight loss companies. We need a GET WELL system.  Weight is NOT the problem. The underlying cause of what is triggering the excess weight and so many other common ailments IS the issue.  It’s not a magic pill or a simple solution because it is not ONE thing that has caused the enormous obesity epidemic and widespread health issues we are seeing in America today. The struggle is a result of poor eating habits, stress, lack of nutrients, and toxins that can snowball into gut health issues, unstable blood sugar, and inflammation. I want to love both pictures because they both represent a girl who has worked so hard for her body and still enjoys food without restriction and who enjoys pushing herself physically! I'm maintaining my weight right now which should be fantastic! However, negative thoughts of "I should eat less and lose a little more" keep coming up. Always feeling not good enough... But dammit I'm going to love myself for whatever size it decides to be most comfortable at! Balance is key and I refuse to restrict calories just to see a lower number. It's not all about numbers people! Day 19 -- I've always been a pretty slender individual. Because of that, I have honestly never considered the discrimination that happens as a result of weight. For example, I have always been able to simply walk into a store, buy clothes, and wear them-- no hemming, no shrinking or stretching, nothing. I've always been interesting in how the definitions of "normal" bodies have changed over time. It's gone from plump to curvy to wafty to thin to fit.....to what? Why can we not simply embrace all body types? Like I mentioned before, I've always been thin and fit. However, that doesn't mean that I love my body. I've had people tell me before that I'm too thin or that they want my body or that they're jealous or that I look anorexic (sidenote -- using anorexic to describe how random people look is not acceptable). We need to stop saying that some body types are okay and some are not. Happiness is not measured in pounds. When it comes to healthy eating the things I hear consistently are "it's too expensive" "I don't have time to make healthy food" and "I still crave junk and end up eating it at night" πŸ’”TOUGH LOVE TIME πŸ’” πŸ’°money: There are economical ways to eat healthy. Meal prep for a couple days in advance. Buy meat in bulk, portion and freeze it. If fresh produce is too pricey frozen produce is just as good as long as your steaming veggies and not boiling to retain nutrients. You put your money into what you value. Do you value your healthy lifestyle? ⏰time: you're busy I get it I am too but eating well is a PRIORITY for me and I make the time for it. It takes me about an afternoon to do my meal prep for the week and then significantly less time throughout the week prepping and cooking. By using my Sunday afternoons to plan a head I have no excuse to fall behind throughout the week. Prioritize your healthy eating. πŸ₯ cravings: everyone gets them! It's how you deal with them that impacts your life. Are you eating one cookie or the entire box? If you're eating the entire box GET IT OUT OF YOUR HOUSE! That's what I had to do. So now when I'm craving something sweet I go for fruit. If I'm craving carbs I reach for protein. There are healthy ways to curb cravings and ways to reduce the temptation but the only person you have to answer to is you. ❀ . . Excuses are lame and a way to cop out from bettering yourself. To look like that 3 years ago I had to burn a 1000 calories a day, restrict my food to just 1200 calories a day. I was on caffeine pills just to go to work, school, workout and I had a two year old. Side by side pictures can lie. We see a ripped person and we think healthier, happier etc...I ended up with nothing but binge eating disorder and I never believed I had that body anyways. I'm sure there are people who can look like that and not go to extreme measures but I'm not one of them. I'm so much happier just running and lifting weights 4-6 times a week, and maintaining my weight by eating intuitively.  As I go back to school for personal training and dietetics.. I start to have moments of self doubt. Like, who would fucking believe I even work out!? Who on earth would want my "fat ass" to train them or give them nutrition advice. Even though I can run and lift just as much as I did when I was ripped. I have to remember there are people out there like me, especially women who don't want their whole life shackled to fitness or who have been through eating disorders like me. Who just want to work out and eat healthy to feel better. Where maybe weight loss is just a side affect. I'm not against helping people to lose weight at all. I lost 100 pounds ten years ago and I'm not forgetting that. I would never want to be 250 pounds again and I'm not going to deny that some people need to lose weight to be healthier. I just believe that it should be for the right reason and that people should have realistic expectations. You'll never be happy at any size if you have other issues besides weight. It took me ten years just to  like myself. It wasn't ten years ago when I lost the weight and the next day I was cured from self hate and doubt. It's not that easy. And it never will be.

I'm so glad I started this Instagram and that I get to look back to where I started my journey. 6 months I posted the picture on the left. I was being so critical of myself. I edited it a couple times. I kept asking if I should post it. I was so damn nervous to put THAT fully clothed normal looking picture up. 3 days ago I posted the one on the right. Only had to take the picture once (If you know me, I have to take 10 to give me some options lol). I didn't edit or put a filter on it. I didn't take 2 hours to decide if I was going to post it. For just 6 months apart, a lot in me has changed. I went back on a few older pictures and I wanted to reword things I wrote. I felt like I kept having to explain myself or that I sounded so nervous talking about myself. I didn't change anything though, so that way I can have those posts to look back on and see how far I've come. Body positive to me is a journey, not a destination. I don't think there's a stopping point that's like, "okay! I'm 100% confident!". It's a process. You have to keep being positive, keep telling yourself you're worthy, and keep showing yourself love. Occupy my big baby, try to stay warm, check in on my biz, chug my pre workout, mentally prepare myself for my workout by letting the automatic preview music play on my screen for :30... then finally working out πŸ™ˆ . Anyone think about their workout LONGER than it would actually take them?! . . πŸ™‹πŸ½ I don't love working out.. but I love the high that follows!! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

I recently read @portiaderossi's memoir and it was the most relatable account of eating disorders that I've ever read. I wish everyone who is trying to understand anoriexia and bulimia would read this book, especially family and friends of someone who is battling an ED.  Hell, I wish I had read it sooner! But I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason, and just when I thought Portia's words could not touch my soul or warm my heart any more than they already had, I read the above paragraph. Going vegan had been a very smooth transition for me, and while it's only been a few weeks I already feel the positive effects it is having on my mind, body and spirit. To have that feeling captured in writing is some kind of magic βœ¨πŸ’š

Strawberry greek yogurt is such a pretty color!πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“. Tons of strawberries burried underneath! A fig bar, and tripple berry granola. Very fruit filled balancrd breakfast might i add 😍. Have another weigh in on Monday, might be doing every 2 weeks now. Sincr im a little blue, but you guys keep me going. I got this idea from looking at this girls story πŸ“Έ. Its like a penpal thing, were you send letters, stickers, or goodies you dont have in your country. I thought it would be cute to do that with someone. Choices.  Decisions.  I talked about those yesterday...right? πŸ€”  So last night I made the CHOICE to sleep in my workout clothes?  Why?  Because I know when I CHOOSE to do this I am more likely to yank myself out of bed in the morning to get my workout in.  It's a mental thing.  I hear all the time "I don't know how you workout in the morning. I'm just not a morning person"  Uh....who is?  People NEED sleep. It takes training both physically and mentally to be a morning person (see/read Miracle Morning for more info). It literally takes a DECISION to be a morning person and then action.  Some days are easier than others. I can remember a time when I used to get frustrated when my clothes didn't fit, and then get even more frustrated when they would fit, but not quite like I imagined. . I always classified myself as a "fit" girl, even when I stopped exercising. I always classified myself as someone who ate healthy... even though I binged on ice cream and chocolate every night. . Now, I have faced my demons head on. I took responsibility for my frustration. I got myself on a structured workout program. I have become apart of fit family who keep me accountable. And I finally overcame my sugar addiction. . Because this transformation is more than skin deep.πŸ’•
