Hip flexor stretch correction: all too often I see people attempting to stretch out their hip flexors similar to the photo on the left (cranking on your hip capsule and lower back). # Photo on the right: engage your glutes and brace your core, slightly shift forward while pressing down into your front leg until you feel a stretch and hold it. # Make these adjustments and let me know how it feels. As it turns out, this nutritional medicine path I'm on is of no surprise. Other than the fact my dad is a doctor, my great-grandfather was not only a senator in NSW but also something of a herbalist medicinal man who developed natural aspirin-like remedies. So my pull towards developing medicinal natural remedies might just be down to my DNA! Jesus✅ Sweat✅ Coffee✅. I actually enjoying doing it Coffee, Jesus w/sweat when I'm doing yoga. This morning I was thanking Abba for who He is. Thanking Him for Jesus and Holy Spirit. Thinking about His attributes. He reminded me that Jesus has an attribute of righteous anger. In John 2:13-22 We see Jesus demonstrate that very anger against the people who were defiling His Father's house (the temple of God). The people asked him who he thought he was to do and say something like that. On what authority. He responded "destroy this temple and I will raise it again in 3 days". The temple He was speaking about though was His very own body. Our bodies are the new temples of God. If Jesus had zeal for the house of God then why don't we?! Why are we defiling our bodies with chemicals that are in cheap, processed foods? Why are we not taking care of our bodies internally by eating the foods it needs and giving it the exercise it needs? If you are a lover of Jesus this is a must in our daily lives! We need the zeal of the Lord to no longer defile His temple, but to treat it well. If renewing your mind and soul with the word of God is a priority to your relationship with Jesus then taking care of His temple, that He has fashioned for you to do GREAT things, should be a priority to you as well. Do you do MOD (Movements of the Day)? I've mentioned here before how I do! They are just a movement I plan to do throughout my day when I need an active break. ## Today mine is air squats. I aim for exercises I can do most anywhere in my home/space in the moment when I remember. Here are some other great ideas for MOD: *Plank holds *Pull-ups (or a modified variation) *Push-ups (or some variation or modification). On Sunday I did walk out/in push-ups *Single-leg deadlifts with a jug of water, dumbbell, kettlebell, etc. Wall sits *Burpees *Jump rope bursts *Yoga pose practice (like crow or handstand, etc.) The possibilities are truly endless! Haven't felt the greatest these last few days and haven't gone to the gym since SUNDAY 😢😭 If you know me, you know that by now I'm going insane 🙄😷🙃 Gym time is my therapy and lordy knows I need it 😂 But-- I listen to my body. When I need rest, I rest. Even if I pout about it 😘 I can do my part in recovering by drinking lots of water, taking my Cellcential vitamins and keeping my nutrition on point with my whey based blueberry banana smoothie 👌 My fitness journey has been all about truly listening to my body. Heres a throwback blender pic of strawberry and banana icecream! Banana ice cream helped me stay raw and fruity back when I was detoxifying and healing my body of chronic illnesses. The biggest key to a healthy lifestyle is finding balance. While eating at home more often is easier you also need to live and enjoy life. Tonight is my monthly #girlsnightout I'm not going to pass on all the fun but a plan is important! Here are some #healthytips 1) eat clean all day- I am talking spot on plan with lots of veggies and lean protein. 2) drink lots of water. You should be doing this anyway but today it will help with any extra salt from the restaurant food. 3) plan a head! Most menus are online or if not always safe to go with a garden salad with grilled chicken and dressing on the side. 4) don't over do it! So this may be your treat meal for the week but remember your goals. Maybe split a not so healthy appetizer and have a healthy meal options. 5) don't take home leftovers. Enjoy your food there and then leave it or have a friend take it. This will stop you from over ordering and you won't be tempted to eat it again for breakfast! 6) Don't stress too much.
