Hi! I'm back! I went M.I.A. for a bit because I moved from Austin-->Boston, but I'm back with skin updates! I am still drinking green juices at least 4-5X a week and my skin is still constantly improving everyday. What I want to talk about though, is what I have researched and learned regarding the difference between GREEN JUICES and GREEN SMOOTHIES for acne. Simply put, if your skin is breaking out in cystic acne, juicing is your BEST bet vs. drinking smoothies for 2 main reasons: . 1.) If you're breaking out, your digestive system is incredibly out of wack. Most of us have less than stellar digestive systems due to years of eating processed foods & antibiotic fed meat. When our digestive systems are impaired, our body is less capable of breaking down fibers to digest the nutrients in veggies. But juicing literally "pre-digests" the vegetables for you, and then your body is basically flooded with nutrients which help it to heal. . 2.) You can consume SO many more vegetables (and therefore nutrients) via juicing, and in a much more efficient manner vs smoothies. Almost every health guideline out there recommends 8 servings of veggies/fruits per a day, and a very low% of us actually get that bc it's a lot to handle. (Scroll down to see some of my "plates of veggies" before juicing. Try to convince me that you could eat all of that in a setting/in a smoothie...) It would be DIFFICULT! . When you drink fresh green juice, it is as if you are directly injecting your system with a fusion of vitamins, minerals and enzymes bc your body isn't having to work at breaking everything down the way it would in a smoothie or eating it whole. I had originally starting drinking smoothies (via a blender) but stopped because they tasted horrible (juices are easy to suck down with a straw), and I didn't see the results AT ALL the way I have with juicing. I truly feel that my body was having a difficult time with digesting the fiber in juices and that the nutrients weren't being absorbed by my body. . Stay tuned - I'll be posting a picture of my skin. Nothing like a good workout to get the body doing what it needs to do to function properly. Exercise is a great way to release toxins naturally. It gets you breathing which clears out the lungs and sweating which is great for the skin. Nothing like working up a sweat. Week 5 day 2
I love going to the mailbox; some people dont because bills come in the mail. I expect good things. When I was a court reporter all my transcript checks came in the mail. So I go to the mailbox excited and expectantly. I love surprising my challengers with goodies. Yes, that's what happens when you're not just a fly on the wall. It's funny how you don't see yourself how others see you. I was going through some photos from a couple of years ago and wow! What a difference 70 pounds make. I have been thick all my life and was cool with it. The thing that made me want to change wasn't physical appearance, it was internal. I was tired of migraines, high blood pressure, brain fog, and just plain tired. After a car accident terrible back pain was added to the list. Then, I DECIDED this was not the life for me. I DECIDED to make a change. I DECIDED I wanted to not just live but thrive and enjoy my life without complaints. I MADE A DECISION! Don't try to do everything overnight. Focus on 1 step at a time. The first step to true change starts in your mind. DECIDE TO CHANGE
There are some things I forget and there are things I remember. I may forget alot of things, but fueling my body isn't one of them 😄😃😅 I forget to take my vitamins sometimes but I remember to eat so an easy way for me to do both is with my daily smoothie. Morning Routine - Lemon water, journal, cuddle my hubby, workout, juice, shower! Sometimes I add meditation but for the most part - that's it! This juice obviously contains beets! I know some people are turned off by beets but I find when it you pair them with citrus it really cuts down on the "earthy" flavor! Beets are great for energy, and fighting inflammation. Listen in quiet; He will give you the ideas, brainstorm, seek with your mind. It takes more than asking; it is a setting of priorities and a focusing of the heart. Knocking involves action, movement! Don't just sit there waiting for opportunity to come knocking. Most times opportunity doesnt show up in the form people think; therefore they miss it. If you miss it, create another door/ opportunity.
