One of my favourite creations! Portobello walnut meat over zoodles smothered in a vegan cashew alfredo sauce. Portobellos are so earthy and make a great meat substitute, especially combined with the nutty meaty texture of walnuts!  And the cashew cream sauce is so easy and no yucky dairy side effects (acidity, inflammation, breakouts, gas, bloating...) I woke up earler. I completed lower fix extreme from 21 Day Fix Extreme. This workout was awesome. It was a mix of plyo, weights, and my favorite resistance bands at the end. Within 30 minutes, my legs were on fire. 😀💚💪 How was your workout today? 💓

I'm back home and back in bed. And all I want to do is sleep. I didn't workout today, I didn't get to stretch. I spent at least 8 hours in total sitting in cars and planes 🙃 and I didn't get the best food all day. (Although I did have a nice salad and spaghetti at lunch) My body feels all weird and my mind is going "you would have felt better if you did a workout" - which is true. But the situation is just what it is. • This has probably been the best reminder for me that things can happen suddenly and it can completely change what you're used to for the day/week/month/year. It's not going to be bad. It can throw you off your game and you might feel frustrated. But I could have complained and felt even worse about myself. I know we all do that. I used to do it all the time. I'm trying to do better. I don't complain like I used to if things aren't ideal. I don't use it as an excuse and I know tomorrow is another day to reset and start over. I'm trying to do better for my mental and emotional health. But I can't if I expect things to always be the way I want them to be.

VEGAN SWEET POTATO TAHINI BROWNIES by @healthyfrenchwife✨ Ingredients  I used a square brownie pan.  450gr of puree sweet potatoe- about 2 medium potatoes 1/2 cup of almond milk or soy.  1/2 cup of buckwheat flour or wholemeal flour 2/3 cup of almond meal 1/2 cup of coconut sugar 5 tbsp of cacao Pinch of salt 1/3 cup of tahini Steam or boil your sweet potato, drain and leave to cool. Pre heat your oven to 175 degrees celsius and line a small brownie pan with baking paper. In a food processor add in the potatoes and all the other ingredients; Mix until very well combined.  Spoon into your pan and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Keep it in the fridge for up to 1 week. #capetownvegan✨

It's been a while since I posted a lil video of me getting on the scale. Current weight 285 lbs, heck yeah😁 I'm super proud of myself! Eating plant based whole foods is honesty the reason I was able to bust out of the 90s. Continuing towards my end of Summer weight goal 274 lbs. It was SO BOMB and i always add more toppings after I eat the first layer 😂 I can't & won't resist!!! i'm going to film some sit down talking videos about some topics that I feel I need to speak about asap to get them on my channel and spoken about!! I'm so excited for you guys to see them!! I hope today is a productive day, I've been having very relaxing days recently but am ready to get 💩 done today!! Oats cooked with almond milk and cacao powder with chia seeds mixed in + top it with a extra ripe 🍌 and @18rabbits chocolate granola for some crunch since I like my oats extra creamy!!! It was SO BOMB and i always add more toppings after I eat the first layer 😂 I can't & won't resist!!! i'm going to film some sit down talking videos about some topics that I feel I need to speak about asap to get them on my channel and spoken about!! I'm so excited for you guys to see them!! I hope today is a productive day, I've been having very relaxing days recently but am ready to get 💩 done today!! The last 14 days have been an absolute BLAST and I've loved every second of it!💪 I've tried so many new foods and eaten meal combinations that excel flavours exceeding beyond my expectations of what vegan food would taste like. I've never felt so at one with nature AND I feel great in myself; body, mind and soul.  I know this is the start of something incredible and there's no chance I'll be giving up this lifestyle anytime soon.. I've been doing crossfit at @crossfitnoala for over year and I've never been this strong in my life, but I felt like I needed to do more. 🏋🏻‍♂️🏋🏻‍♂️ For the last two weeks, I've incorporated jump roping for 30-45 minutes a day for 6x a week. I was inspired by @zendudefitness to add jumping as a great alternative cardio routine. Dinner. Roasted miso glazed eggplant 🍆 , squash and chickpeas. ---------- Homemade food tastes so much better and I love trying new recipes. This one is from @vegancommunity courtesy of @wickedhealthy . 👈for recipe. I made some changes because I didn't have all the ingredients. When I get them I'll try the original, but still oh so gooood! ----------- I subbed: 1t of dried for the fresh turmeric, white wine for sake, regular brown miso for ChickP miso. I added a small squash, subbed ground chipotle pepper for the pepper flakes, and added chopped red pepper to the chick peas. For the toppings i didn't have a chili pepper, but I did use green onion and candied pecans and cranberries. Why do you train?  I personally dont train to sculpt my muscles or just to look good. I train because its fascinating to see what the human body is capable of and most importantly to reach total health. Building muscles is fine but the most important decision i make every day is, what do i put into my body and what can i do to improve my health? Because the quote we are what we eat is simply true. You can look good on the outside but bad on the inside. I worry about my inside first. What your opinion on this matter? Not what I actually had for breakfast but I ate it so fast and enjoyed it sooo much that I didn't even photograph it! I did SUCH a sweaty HIIT workout for half an hour at the gym followed by full body weights (I lift weights now what the hell?!?💦👊🏻) then came home and had my 'half cooked oats' (I just microwave my oats for a minute and a half) so some of the oats cook and go creamy and others kind of float around in hot milk! ✨focus on your own journey✨  I had some negative comments yesterday about my body putting pressure on others postpartum journeys.. and I do get it but we all just need to remember that we are all on are own personal journey.. no one else is going to achieve my body because it's mine... 💥HOW to reduce your Sodium intake as a vegan💥 - 🦄Try to keep your Sodium intake as low as possible, but at the same time don't stress about it too much! - 🦋Step 1: Avoid adding extra salt to your food. Most vegan food is tasty without salt anyway! So there is no real reason to put extra salt on your meals🤓 - 🐳Step 2: Fake meats are awesome (max 3-4x per week in my opinion), but they are very high in sodium, so keep that in mind😉 - 🐡Step 3: Buy your nuts and seeds unsalted AND sometimes beans and chickpeas are stored in cans with salt-water so I'd suggest rinsing them before eating them☺️ (Btw Salsas and Soy sauce are very high in sodium too) - 🐛Step 4: Ever wondered: "Why am I so thirsty? HAPPY HUMPDAY 🍑🙌 this is a very rare occurrence but incredibly I'm actually training legs on hump day- doing my squat focused workout today which should be gooood (though still have to use a smith machine because of the gym I'm using which is a bit 💩). Right now I'm training legs/glutes three times a week in order to try and gain some muscle as I always struggle gaining on my lower body. I've split it up so that I'm doing a squat focused day, a deadlift day and then one more accessory day where I just do what I feel like really. Fingers crossed it'll actually help grow some quads because I have serious quad envy from most of the people on here 😂 (hence why I tend to flex my biceps rather than trying to show off my non-existent leg muscles 😂😂).
