Getting ready to deadlift this bad boy up. Did I do it? I sure did! 💪 I avoid deadlifting because of my back (haven't really done it in 3-4 weeks even though I'm supposed to 😙) but yesterday was max day so there was no hiding from it. So, it being the final day of #fitfebruary what better time to do a progress check. In the last month I've dropped from 88.5kg down to 85kg (just under a kg per week); I've matched my PB in bench, got a new PB in squats and I'm back up to 160kg on deadlift, 10kg from my 1 rep max. 😊 my yo-yo has come back up to where it was last July, which puts me about a month ahead of schedule for my 7s training. 👌🏼All in all not a bad month. Will I make this much progress every month? God no! But as long as there's progress in the right direction, why stop?! I came with a plan to do it and did!👍👍✌💪💪 (with a lil help from sneaky left knee😉) 240kg off of 3" blocks💣💣....another pb! Work on these for a while- 280kg target! (Staright face-game face on!)....then back to the floor.
Tuesday gym session done. Spin bike HIIT to start. Someone must have just left the bike I was on as the screen was running the first tour program. Looks like the alpine stage proved too much for someone 😄 I feel your pain 😬 I left it running and got on with my intervals. Didn't quite manage my previous nice steady output, but kept it close to 350W +/- a bit. You can see from the graph it was definitely a bit sketchier. Back day today, so onwards to the back extension machine. Mistimed moving to the deadlift platform as someone had just started there, so diverted to the seated cable machine while they got their lifts done. I used up the time doing some more back extensions on the cable machine at 100kg, then 120kg. The time for deadlifts. Vary of pushing too hard today after yesterday's failfest, but opted to warm up at 140kg with a set of 8. Would have been more, but somehow ended up with an uneven grip on the bar and I could feel it affecting my balance. Moved up to 160kg next, eyeing the possibility of trying for 180kg after, but it wasn't to be. Failed to lift twice. 180kg will have to wait for another day. Dropped back down to 100kg for bent over rows. Finished off with cable deltoid flys. Not as bad a session as yesterday, but not great.
