This is the only lift I PR'd in, and it was my favorite. I didn't know what weight Coach @simmons_strength picked for me and I didn't want to know going into it cuz then I would get in my head too much. He gave me words of encouragement before the lift and I dug deep for Dad and finished strong! After the lift I looked at the board and saw 314!!! I got that shit up and didn't even pee myself!! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ˜‚ Love seeing my intense cheerleader @aacost22 in the back along with my other @ironmongersgym fam & hearing everyone else cheering me on!! #realtalk So people have asked me how much I've lost from #workingout and I just say none. I'm about 5'7 and my "healthy ideal" weight is about 135lbs... to me that would be disgusting. If I really wanted to, I have the ability to be a skinny, stick person like the rest of the world and I just find that promotes negative thoughts. No offense. I have nothing against women who like the thought of being thin but I do have something against people telling me that because I'm not thin, I look horrible and scary and manly. Like that doesn't even make sense! Before I started working out, I was 230lbs with a cushioned ass, DD's and tummy fat and I loved it. All I wanted was a booty pop because I had the #booty but now, I've got that point in my life where weight is just a number. I don't want to be dangerously obese but I also don't want to be curve-less though I have an hourglass figure. My goal is be strengthen myself, my body. I don't want abs or thigh gaps. Sure I want to lose fat but I honestly want to stay my weight 215 but just exchange muscle for fat. I want to challenge my body past it's limits. I want to be able to #legpress 700lbs in a few years. I want to be able to #deadlift 400 lbs in a few years. I want to be a stronger me and build my body to the the figure that turns me on and entices me. I'm doing this for me because I frankly don't care what people think of me that much. I just get ticked when people tell me that my thigh being muscular is gross... I don't judge you for your body so don't waste your breath on me. Playing around with some Romanian Deadlifts this morning. Started with light weight to focus on technique, hinging at the hip and keeping the spine neutral. Biggest struggle with these, like all Deadlift variations is keeping your back straight as well as not over extending at the top of the movement. . . You can't just expect to walk after leg day 😬😁 . A form of Stiff legged deadlift (SLDL), light, bar-only. A great exercise on its own or like me here, between hamstring and calf exercises (both heavy), I am performing those after a session of heavy squats, and 5 sets of heavy Romanian Deadlifts, and before some heavy ass calf raises, it works for me (by not adding weight to the bar) as a great hamstring/calf stretch without involving a lot of low back as I have exhausted my low back with heavy deadlifts and squats prior . If u notice,  I exaggerate the movement by swinging the bar out front without the hips moving, and although the SLDL is done mostly with a rounded back, I personally like my back to remain flat . If you like to perform those or even RDLs – unless you are an advanced lifter then you do what works for you – make sure to lower the bar only to the limits of your hamstrings flexibility, keep your back locked, lats flexed, shoulder blades pulled back, with the bar sliding down the legs and over the knees . The bar should also essentially be dragged up and down the thighs and never swing out of the body . What an unreal day. Competed in my first powerlifting meet today and totaled 765lbs at 136.4lbs bodyweight. 292 squat, 132 bench, and 341 deadlift!! Besides getting to lift along some really amazing lifters @maryeeclark @jarenscribble @dinhertime_9, I learned that this is an amazing sport and it truly makes me proud to be a part of it. The camaraderie and support I got from my family, friends, and total strangers was insane but most of all, I can't thank @joeyflexx7 enough. He was there every step of the way and made my first meet a breeze. I'm so lucky to have him and the rest of the flexxfam supporting and cheering me on.
