#TrainerTipTuesday with trainer Josh. One common form mistake with a deadlift is hiking your hips too high causing the weight to pull in the lower lumbar. Josh suggests to focus on keeping your hips low, slightly tilted forward and chin down to help keep the spine neutral. This will keep the weight loaded in your hamstrings and glutes, which is what you want.
Had forgotten how much events days take out of you. . Modified today's session accordingly. . A1 - Rack Axle Deadlifts 3x2 @ 180kg + 1x10 @ 160kg. . B1 - Poliquin Bar Floor Press 4x8 @ 70-80kg. . Body wasn't feeling the Deadlifts today after yesterday's efforts. Decided to rep out 160kg at the end as wanted to see how long 10reps would take, 30secs was the answer. Also wanted to use a touch and go technique as never sure when it comes to competition what will be allowed. Confident of hitting double figures in just over 2 weeks time. . Changed the overhead work to Floor Press as wanted to give the spine and knees a break after yeaterdays log, stones and yoke have left them weary. . Important to listen to your body and, if needed from time to time, adapt your plan whilst still getting the same outcome. . Overhead Lockout worked on by using the poliquin bar (narrrow log like grip) and on the floor to keep the major emphasis on the tricep lockout part of the movement. . Growing up I was always the "fat pretty" girl. Even when I was a dancer, I still had really poor eating habits and so I carried a lot of excess weight. So I started lifting weights consistently 4mos ago and have already noticed my body transforming. Not that you ever want to place your value on compliments, but it's been one hell of a confidence booster when multiple people tell you you look STRONGER not skinnier!! 😍💪💪💪

3yrs ago 230# deadlift PR...Posting this to show that strength does not come over night..Increased Strength comes from TIME, persistency, consistency, and giving 110%, even if you feel like 💩 each and every time you step foot in that gym..And more important than physical strength is mental strength..If you tell yourself it's gonna be hard, then it's gonna be hard, if you tell yourself you can't then you probably wont..You HAVE to tell yourself you CAN each and every time.."He who says he can, and he who says he can't, are both usually right." Deadlift 120kg-265 lbs WRONG FORM !!!!! Tôi chỉ quá tập trung vào khối lượng tạ và máy quay mà quên mất set up form trước khi lifting. Nó là một kỉ lục mới của tôi ,nhưng form nó đã sai và may mắn là cái lưng tôi đã không tái phát đau lại. Tôi từng chấn thương lưng dưới vì deadlift 80kg, nó từng hành hạ tôi rát nhiều và đã bỏ deadlift rất lâu vì sợ chấn thương lại đến. May mắn cho tôi lần này là form dẫu có hơi sai nhưng chấn thương không đến. Cũng nhờ quay lại mà tôi nhận ra được điểm sai mà sửa chửa. Lần sau mức tạ mới và form đúng hơn. Look at my form. Don't you just hate it when there's that one person who seems to follow you around the gym and copy exactly what you are doing?! Im not even kidding here. I mean seriously...come on!!! They even sit right next to you on the spin bikes (when theres about 10 others free ) and try to 'RACE' you! 😮😮😕😕They keep peering over to you to see what you're doing 😒😒😞😞 FFS we are not 10 years old here!
