As a young woman my existence was based on how attractive people found me, which left me disappointed and hollow. I forgot all the amazing things that make me me! These days compliments about how I look, good or bad don't stick, I find them so surface level and I long for depth.
So i hadnt weighed myself in about in a month in a half. I lost 10 lbs. Crazy. I think the combination of drinking a lot of water, 10-15 min work outs a day. Doesnt seem like a lot but 10 min-15 work out times 7 days a week is pretty good. I think. Baby steps. Ive done crazy diets to lose weight, unhealthy diets, just dont eat or eat very little. Some made me really sick. This time i try a combination of just eating well, more water, less sugar, portion control, vitamins, and good ol fashion exercise. Well here i am, Cellulite and all lol. My legs are big, my arms not toned yet, my stomach still there. But its cool i am learning to love every inch of myself. This is my body and i own it. When I first started coaching, I did it for the discount and to make a little extra income on the side. What I didn't know was how much it would impact my life in such a short amount of time. My mindset has changed from feeling stuck to feeling unstoppable. My confidence in myself is the highest it's ever been. I'm more willing to step outside my comfort zone. I've seen results with the workouts that I wasn't seeing elsewhere. I've found an easy way to incorporate nutrition and to stay healthy even with my busy schedule. I think people vastly underestimate the power of a woman who believes in herself, and more so, believes in others. Growing up one of 4 sisters, I was the eternal outsider. I was too loud. Too brave. Too dangerous. And people often saw me bravely being myself as !being conceited. Closed off. Unfriendly. I look back now and swear if I could better express myself people would have seen be differently. I wouldn't have been lonely. I love the shit out of others. Maybe too much. Maybe too recklessly. I believe in rooting for others, just as much as I believe in being my own biggest cheerleader. I'm passionate, and people can read that as brass, stubborn and unwelcoming. I am confident in who I am, and people can read that as hard headed, uncooperative, inflexible and unwelcoming to others. .. . I get it now. But hear me when I say, if you are in my life, I'm all in. Friendships, relationships, career. I am going to be just as bold and brave and confident in you as I am in myself. I will support you. I will stand up for you. I will give you every ounce of my love and energy and terrible jokes as I can. I don't want anyone to ever look at me and think, " she's independent. She doesn't need anyone." Yes. I don't need anyone. But If you're all in for me, as my person, I am counting on you, too. My point is, I want to be surrounded by beautiful and wonderful and diverse souls. I want you to see me, and know you are safe with me. And most importantly, I want you to know I need you as much as you need me. We all need each other. This is a strange photo of my forearm, but that's okay. Sometimes you have to write out #affirmations in a place you know you'll remember to look. This is a crazy/good/amazing week. I started back waiting tables. We are looking to buy our first house. I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL. And then regular school/podcast/family/life stuff on top of it all. And I am very grateful for #allthethings . But I don't want my #fitnessgoals to get lost in the mix. So I met with a trainer today. And we talked about #caloriesincaloriesout . And my ideal daily caloric intake. And that I probably need to be #strengthtraining three days a week. SO. I'm on it. #gettingthere#becominganathlete
Embarrassingly I was unable to complete the entire first 7 minute set even once. I was literally 8 decline push ups off it. Well that's all my resistance workouts done for week 12. Only the challenge, HIIT and 2 x LISS to go. How's everyone else going with this final week?
