I was fortunate enough to walk away with 1st place in both my classes today! 🏆🏆 I approached the judges after the show for feedback and also found out I had just missed taking home the Overall. Say what?! 🙊🙉🙊 The girl that won had legs for days and I couldn't compete with that, she ROCKED it and deserved to take home the title and the crown! 👑 I couldn't be happier with today's outcome. 😊💖 I had my doubts coming into this show. I had only 7 weeks to prepare for it and realized a couple weeks into my prep that I hadn't given myself enough of an off season (2 months) to really give my body the rest it needed and to add the size and muscle to my lower body (which I lack) and really build up my legs and glutes. I was on a strict prep and diet for 8 months prior to that short break earlier this year and I realize now that I need a lot longer "off season" than a couple months to achieve the goals I've got my mind set on. And oddly enough, we don't. _ This is our second year of going through prep together and we couldn't imagine doing this without each other grinding through it together. We have our low carb moments. Exactly #1weekout from the #omaraclassic so here is a throwback to my last time on the @ifbbwa stage ... Although 'peak week' technically starts tomorrow, for me I am still 2.5 weeks out from the main gig. Only 19 days until I am on the #arnoldclassicaustralia stage. 19 days to kill every single workout and leave nothing to chance.
Remembering when I was so nervous to eat more, to gain weight, and to lift heavy. Now I am eating way more than I could ever imagine (find a good coach who knows what he's doing--don't just eat whatever you want), gaining weight, and pushing the weights.💪🏼💪🏼

I'm deep into my off-season; I'm gaining size, muscle and fat. And that's just part of the process for when I compete again and also for rehabbing my metabolism. 💁🏼 I feel like people don't understand the mental challenges that come along with this "journey." Like the fact that I haven't had "real" butter until last week when I decided to finally start using a tiny amount of it instead of the 0-calorie shitstorm that is spray butter. Because I was TERRIFIED of the added fats and calories, and the mentality of "I can use those calories elsewhere. I need to save them." Disordered thinking IS real and it's AWFUL. It exists in prep, off-season, during reverse dieting and everything in between. I battle it every single day, but I'm doing my best to try and be "normal" again. 👻

I originally set the goal to compete in an NPC Figure Competition after I attended an NPC Muscle Contest in San Diego, California . I didn't know much about the Fitness Industry or anything about being an NPC Competitor.. All I knew is that I wanted to look like the Ladies I saw onstage wearing sparkling bikinis. Four months later I was stepping on stage for my very first competition. Competing changed my life forever. I continue to compete competitively because of the feeling it gives me. I fell in love with the eight second spot light. I continue to set goals and work toward them because when there is a final product.. Its mine. No one gave this body to me and no one can take it away. I am who I am because of my hard work and discipline. No one made me wake up 0400 AM for a cardio session or spend my Friday nights at the gym. I do what I do because it brings me happiness. My number one tip for anyone who is starting their fitness journey is to set a goal and stick to it. Do your research on nutrition and fitness training and you will see results. There are so many resources in the world to help you along the way. You just have to find your passion. Sadie B. San Diego, CA
