EXERCISE OF THE WEEK @fennelly_fitness :  FLAT BENCH DUMBBELL PRESS  An excellent compound exercise, the dumbbell bench press strengthens the fronts and tops of the shoulders, the triceps at the back of the upper arms and the pectorals, or chest muscles. During the press, your rhomboids at the upper back, the backs of the shoulders and the serratus anterior along the ribs also help to execute the move.  Lying on your back on a bench, hold a pair of dumbbells directly above your sternum with your arms fully extended. Pull your shoulder blades together, slightly stick out your chest, and point your palms forward.Slowly lower both dumbbells to the sides of your chest. Pause, then press the dumbbells back to the starting position. Remember to ensure proper breathing throughout -  exhale during the lifting phase and inhale as you lower the weight to your chest.  Start with a weight that you are comfortable with and build from there. Day 2 Cycle 1 Wendler 531, bench. Got 8 comfortably on my AMRAP set of 235lbs last night, ended it there before I started getting pushed. My quad is still not 100% and its affecting my leg drive so I took it easy. These new slingshot elbow sleeves are too friggin tight! I should've ordered one size bigger because the red models do not stretch as easily as the blue, which I knew but didn't know how much less! Rounded out the workout with light volume to sweat some, 3 sets of 12 each with close grip bench and barbell rows, but only 3x10 on military press. Feeling ok, still not ready to squat, but I don't need to for a little while. Deadlifts either tonight or tomorrow, and back/hammy accessories as well. Trip out, there was a homie in my block when I was at Folsom who had this CD, rotten apples: greatest hits of smashing pumpkins and I remember buying it off of him for like 2 cases of soups because I liked it. To this day, I think this is a great CD. I left it behind to another homie when I paroled, but I remember sweating in my cell, bumping this and doing burpees with my celly. Here's what I have been doing: 0 carbs until 5:00 pm, when I take two servings of dextrose powder in a protein shake before my workout. That's worth 50 grams of carbs, and sugar. It is a simple carb so it hits me right away, gives me energy to lift. PRESS BANCA Y LAS ESCÁPULAS ATRAPADAS  El press banca constituye uno de los 3 ejercicios que forman el powerlifting(@agpisano10 modelo en el video, es powerlifter y participará en breves en el campeonato de España,mucha suerte pajarillo) y uno de los más practicados por aquellas personas que pretenden desarrollar la fuerza del tren superior y los pectorales.  No obstante, atendiendo a la relación riesgo—beneficio, no siempre es la mejor opción: . 👉 El hombro es la articulación mas móvil del cuerpo humano, seguramente debido al poco soporte óseo en su alrededor, no obstante también es una articulación bastante vulnerable a las lesiones. La sujeción y movilidad del hombro depende del manguito rotador(supraespinoso, infraespinoso, redondo menor y subescapular). Al ser una articulación muy movil, necesitará de una base estable, la escápula. En el estudio de Voight, M. L., y Thomson, B. C. (2000),se vió como el 68% de los problemas del manguito rotador están asociados a una mala estabilidad escapular. . 👉Al tener las escápulas apoyadas en el banco, estas quedan "atrapadas" en él, por lo que si ya tenemos una mala estabilidad escapular, sumado a este factor y a otros como puede ser un pectoral mayor acortado, se incide en una posición de riesgo en la que se combina 90 grados de abducción del hombro con rotación externa (Gross et al., 1993), anteriorizandose el hombro y disminuyendo el espacio sub—acromial, pudiéndose producir un desgarro o un impigiment(compresión de las estructuras del manguito de los rotadores). . 👉Para evitar la "trampa" para las escapulas que suponen los bancos convencionales para realizar press banca, existen dos opciones poco conocidas como el bamboo bench o el pakulski bench, que permiten trabajar en una posición biomecánica y anatómicamente mas favorable, reduciendo el riesgo de lesión en los hombros. . 👉Otra opción sería trabajar con mancuernas, en las que el agarre permite posicionar el hombro en una posición de rotación externa más saludable para el hombro. Particularmente nos gusta más la opción unilateral, en la que al trabajo de press horizontal le añadimos un trabajo de core anti rotatorio muy interesante.
