One of my favorite chest supersets. I do relatively heavy weight for 3-8 reps, then follow it up with a burnout of 45 lbs. This set was 155x3 followed by 45x20. The pump is amazing! Some easy bench triples today with my new @jfitph Grip-tech tee. Really helps to lock me in for my benching, and a bit better than my usual daiso anti-slip mat. I would recommend wearing one size down in order to maximise the grip effect. If you are keen, drop me a DM as I am collecting orders for friends to share the shipping. I got a few questions regarding my training and how I manage to maintain/improve my strength even with the reduce in frequency. To be honest, my strength is indeed dropping but I am doing my best to preserve it. Here's a few guidelines on what I do for my training when life gets in the way. 1. Set realistic goals. With the reduction in training volume, stretch your previous goal to fit a longer time frame. E.g previously you are training 5 times a week, now you are only training 3 times, it will take about 1.667 times longer (5 divide by 3) to hit the same goal. 2. Be efficient. I started utilising more machine (no setup time) and added supersets, rest pause, drop sets into my accessories work to clock more volume in a shorter period of time. 3. Do the lighter stuff on weekdays and heavier stuff on weekends. After a long day at work/school, it's harder for me to focus for my heavier sets and since I don't want to ingrain bad habits, I usually do the lighter stuff on the weekdays and save the heavier stuff for the weekends. And there you have it, my tips for the working adults/students who are having their exams/project submission etc. Powerlifting is a serious pastime for me but it's not everything. Don't let a program dictate how you spend your days, be flexible, make changes, live a little. Trying to up my bench press game, after 60kg warm up set I went straight in at 90kg, got 9 reps solo no spotter #itsallyou 😂. This fatigued me for the next two sets tho so I dropped the weight, I think next time I'll start with 85 kg and work my way up, maybe I jumped to 90 too quick and should stick on 85 for a while, we'll see. - - My right shoulder doesn't feel great at the start of a push workout and you can see at rep 6 I lag on my right side, same on dumbell shoulder press , it takes me longer to get my right arm pushed up, think it may be from over use from shaking cocktails non stop for 6 years 😂. At the risk of sounding very condescending, (although that is not my intention at all!) I would like to say this to anyone out there who has ever battled themselves, struggled, felt worthless, or believed they were done with life: there will come a day when things change, when someone will listen to you and when you are able to make life what you want it to be.
