Damn that was fun. Kinda sucks that its over. Learned a ton and was so happy to end the meet with a deadlift PR of 440 lbs (200kg). So much respect for the other competitors. I got alot of motivation for next year. But now its time to switch to bodybuilding for August.

Halfway into the cut. Lost 2kg in 2 weeks and will lose approx 1.5kg more the coming two before nationals next Sunday. Body weight at 71kg now and going to weigh in about 65.9kg. Can never get used to the feeling of having a smaller chest than usual, obviously because a small chest usually doesn't equal a big shirted bench :) My 4 old did however reassure me today by commenting "Dad, you got big tits!". Work hard for what you want and it will come. No one can stop you besides yourself. No one will stop me from that 600 pull besides myself. A 'moment arm' can be defined as the distance between a joint axis and the line of force acting on it. . Been using my @kabukistrengthlab collars for all my main movementsπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. Holds everything snug in place. Worked up to a single at 390 at RPE 8️⃣. Then dropped down & hit some banded CG sub-maximal working sets. Everything moved really smoothπŸ’¨. Getting better at staying tight at the bottom of the press & engaging lats. Happy with how my press has been progressingπŸ“ˆ. Everything steadily going πŸ†™ from here. Hold the vision. Accidentally PB'd on my warm up set of bench this morning!! Why is this so important to me??? I always doubt my own ability & worthiness . Growing up with a learning disability i always felt like i was "behind everyone else", that i was dumb, that success was not on the cards for me. I was only diagnosed with dyslexia in high school which is very late to be picking it up, usually it's picked up very early in primary school with treatment started early on. So since i had "flown under the radar" for so long i though i was dumb and it was ingrained in me that I couldn't do anything without failing. With treatment i slowly learnt that i was not dumb, I just learn't in a different way to other people. But the belief in myself that i was dumb, not worthy was so ingrained in me and a very hard process to change. To this day I still get a flashes of that belief creeping in but I recognize it & acknowledge that it's no longer true and send it packing. It's not easy but I wont let it eat me up anymore. If I can overcome it so can u!! The weights room has taught me I can set goals & I can achieve them. Light bench session on the #bigdogs bench @ptcsouthmelbourne today - this is the start of my next 4week training block, I generally don't "deload" I just try and hit a PR in the last training week in some way shape or form i.e.; more weight, reps, total volume, longer pauses, different grip, heights, bars, or accommodating resistance. Then restart the next training cycle very light. This was CG bench - 95x10, 110x8, 120x6x4sets. In 1993 I lifted 108.25kgs in the Vic Country Championships as a 22 year old at a 60kg body weight. On the weekend I lifted 90kgs as a 45 year old at a 66kgs body weight. Tested my big three the other day to see where I stood so I can start a new prep cycle and frankly it went like shit....dislocated my knee a week prior so squats and deadlifts moved like absolute garbage but even injured I moved more weight and I'm 60lbs lighter than the last time I tested so I guess it's not all bad.  Time for some easier training for a while to let the knee heal and start from zero again!!! Was suppose to do 6x3 back squats at 495 but hip flexors wouldnt allow that so I did front squats . Maybe one day I'll be able to peak again without all these little ticky tacky injuries .  On the bright side my new all time max on front squats I can do for 3. Going to drop front squats from training and cut squats for the rest of the week and maybe that'll help me hang on for another month. Front squats 425-3, 2, 1, 1. 315-5, 3, 3. Bench 365lbs 6x3.
