It really is crazy how quickly we forget how much our bodies have changed! I always think I don't look too different until I see my starting pictures. I can tell you I certainly feel like a different person. Exercise is (of course) about my outward appearance but it's also about my health both mentally and physically. I had a really rough time as a new mother to a preemie in the NICU and getting outside to walk or sweating during a work out really helped me stay sane. BBG came into my life at just the right time and now as a year is quickly approaching I'm excited to start some new fitness adventures.

First LISS of the week done. For my #transformationtuesday I'm wearing my running shirt for my 1st ever 10k that I ran back in October 2006. Since then I've run 5ks, 10ks half marathons and 3 marathons. I try to be registered for something continuously to keep me motivated. Since running my 1st race I've got the bug and it's transformed my approach to how I look after myself, both physically and mentally. Late workout here! I hosted a lipsense party tonight on FB that my sister in law is sponsoring. Had to show everyone that even though I'm drip sweating, this color held tough! No reapplication or loss of color. Anyway, #bBg week 3 legs and cardio done, son! I used a 25lb weight for the medicine ball squat and press and step ups. I was fighting through both of those back to back sets. Anyone else getting in a late workout to close their Monday/close those rings?
Jumped back on the #bbg train today (after #bodypump 💪🏼) ... and my 4yo who usually has mad photog skillz cut off my head in every pic 😂 I have been to 6 classes a week at the gym the past 3 weeks and #kaylaitsines still kicked my booty this afternoon! #sweatwithkayla

Reminding myself of this today. So obvious and so true, but SO easily forgotten! • As I spend today potty training with my daughter, finalizing my next online fitness group, wrapping up another month of workouts and reflecting on life, marriage, my friendships, my little business and even the weather (!), I'm reminded that none of these things progress linearly, nor are they predictable! Someday I hope to embrace this fact, but for right now I'm just trying to make some peace with it! • A big thank you to this community for continually reminding one another of progress over perfection!

Confession.... I missed a workout on Monday. 😭 I just didn't feel it. However, my food is in check! I have eaten completely clean all day and it is what it is! Dinner was roasted broccoli, shallots and salmon! 😋 hope your Monday was a little more productive. 😌
I see you, girl at the gym. You are looking around as you nervously play with your phone. Picking out music and untangling your headphones. You look around and see so many machines that look intimidating. You start to walk across the gym eyeing at all the machines trying to figure out which one you won't look like a fool at using. You are wearing your brand new gym shoes and clothes but you want to act like you been here before a million times and know what you're doing. You make you way to the most empty part of the gym. You sit on a death trap (I mean an Ab Machine) and you hesitantly look at the directions on that machine. You then look at the weights and select a weight you think you can handle. You start and realize that the weight you thought you could handle feels like the weight of an elephant. You're frustrated because you feel weak. You lower the weight down and continue pressing forward. You get up, get some water and try another machine. The whole time looking as nervous and uncomfortable as if everyone in the world is looking at you. You go to the locker room, gather your things and leave. Only this time you actually come back the next day. I BEEN THERE. Did I just describe you? That was me. Always. I always thought people were judging or looking at me. NO ONE IS. Everyone is there for their own health and well being. They don't care if you can't squat. They don't care if you're lifting 5lb weights because that's all you can lift. Want to know who cares? YOU. And guess what? It's never going to get easier if you don't work for it. All that matters is you keep coming back. You keep training. You keep doing whatever it takes to build that endurance. To never give up. Please don't ever give up.
