W2 / D1 Sweat.Believe.Roar. and I'm home again with no voice. 😳 SERIOUSLY?!! Also got maybe an hour of sleep last night. But I got up and got in all the warm ups, glute activation, and max reps/rounds with 5# weights. Followed up with @cirque_physio lower backbend/glutes program (sooo deep, but I'm getting stronger!) and some hip openers with spinal rolls. After my smoothie, I think I will go back to bed. At least I don't have to feel guilty about being sick for tomorrow - it's my first Saturday that I haven't had to "take" off in 4 years. Feeling grateful. 💜🙏🌈
No Filter. Maybe you can see how I still don't feel super fantastic. This actually looks better than I have in over 5 days! Started the morning out with #alltheabs - I've been using my Progressive timer and it's SO AWESOME to do the workout this way!!! Any side moves get done 2x each, all front moves 3x each. Has anyone else tried doing these workouts like the progressive ones? Feeling stronger, but after 3 hours of talking my voice is gonzo again. Heading home... No voice, no teaching...
Today's #wundachairwednesday with my girl @lori.shipp is the Pull Up on the chair. A deceptive name, it actually works your pressing strength and makes you find a balance between upper body stability and core strength. I like to go up on pointed toes, then dorsiflex my ankles to try and release the psoas/quads and really activate my deeper ab muscles. Turning to the side afterwards just feels SO GOOD! A little extra oblique and glute work 🙌🏻
Exactly! Thanks @beachyogagirl! Did my first tiny workout of the year yesterday (2 round rounds of week 2 #alltheabs , making it the third time I do week 2 😝) and some yoga and almost fainted standing up from child's pose.... Everything is tight, I still have a cough and my second stomach bug in a month. The truth about doing workouts is that I always feel like I should use that time to do yoga instead. For me the benefits of yoga are greater but I also want the results of working out. It's hard to fit both in. Well, I'll stop the complaining and lay down because it's my day off and home with the baby and laundry can wait. #yoga#coffee#momlife#thistooshallpass#thetimeissue
Today I was very very sore! My bellabeat seemed to pick up on it. My mom did bodybuilding when she was younger and she said I probably did too much and I need to slow down. So instead of two sets like I did yesterday, I took my moms advise and did one set. I just don't wanna feel sick tomorrow like I did today because of my muscles hurting. Today I did day 2 of Sweat Believe Roar. I really liked the 3 minutes intervals. This helps me pushing myself for 'one more' in those 30 seconds. I do have to admit today was more of a struggle than yesterday because of my soreness, but I did it anyway and am proud of it. I keep being amazed by the lack of upper body strength I have because I lift children daily for my job. Some of them are almost as heavy as me. That said, push ups went better today! Yesterday I could do 3, today 5. Yes this might seem very little and laughable, but for me this is a start that I am proud of. Tomorrow I will enjoy my rest day and I hope my muscles will heal and grow stronger. I feel empowered doing this though, so that is great! Started Sweat. Believe. Roar today. And omg my glutes and hamstrings are burning. My worst enemy today were push ups. I need to conquer those. Any tips anyone? I was seriously struggling with them. The other excercises pushed my body but were really doable. Really love feeling my muscles working and feeling the results. I ammmm soooo sick... You know it's flu when you feel like nothing will ever be ok again. And hallucinating (our 3rd cat is back... We have two cats). But my body hurts when it doesn't move, so I kept on movin'! Week 1 / Day 3 of #sweatbelieveroar and I did all the warm ups, all the booty engagement and max reps / 2 Rounds with 5# weights. I took big breaks and went through more than one water bottle. Now I'm stretching, smoothie-ing, and going back to bed. Feel much better for doing my workout! * * Yesterday was a break from SBR, so I finished up my first week of Sinead's All the Abs - which was perfect! - and did my @cirque_physio booty for backbends work... I learned my internal rotators S U C K big time! Will keep up the work!
Week 1 / Day 2 of #sweatbelieveroar - this was my first day of Progressive training! Did the max at two rounds and added weights where I could. Let me start by saying how SORE MY BOOTY IS from yesterday's traditional series. 🍑 I wasn't sure I would make it through both rounds of the Progressive... But those little 30 second chunks really help make it possible! You just have to make it through the 30 seconds - then that group of two exercises - then the 3 minutes... And repeat! I did add a 30 second rest between rounds for water and to look at the next group. AND my recovery was actually super quick! Within about 3 minutes I felt strong, energized, and not totally wiped out like I did at the end! 👍 Tomorrow will be a non-SBR day with 3 hours of aerial and probably some foam roller. Now, off for a yoga break!
