Sometimes you need to slow down 🚦to speed up🚀. . Almost 2 weeks ago, pulling my bicep wasn't nice. Though disappointing as it was, I was forced to go back to the drawing board. Tight upper traps, external rotators, pec minor.. and the weakest link that gave way was my brachiallis. . Everything always happens for a reason. Spent a bit of time scaling back on things. Improving my flexibility/mobility of my thoracic region.. strengthening external rotators and incorporated lots of anti inflammatory foods such as turmeric and Chia seeds. For a little boost in the recovery process, I am using adaptogens such as American ginseng and cordyceps to expedite the recovery process (check out this book - adaptogens - herbs for strength, stamina and stress relief). Adaptogens have been researched to increase endurance, strength and physical performance. It also helps balance hormonal levels. Some other herbs to consider are ashwagandha, holy basil, Eleuthero, rhodiola (love that @pranaon pure boost contains some of these 👌).Giving it a go esp in the lead up to the comp...at this stage every little bit counts. . Today I used the PowerDot on the warmup potentiation program and shot my biceps to facilitate blood flow and wake them up! Feeling close to 100%👌 . One more session of dry needling at the @ufitsingapore clinic with moira and hopefully it'll be good as gold 💰. . May not be the best at things but giving my best..it's gonna be a smooth ride ahead 🚲 either way. Countdown to the games! Looking forward to seeing the whole @plantbuilt fam again! . ☮️💪🌱.
Worked my way up to a tough 90% snatch in preparation for a weightlifting training camp in China over the next two weeks. Built in 5 sets (97kg/102kg/107kg/110kg fail/110kg) Was initially disappointed with the fail at 110kg and the shakiness at the made 110kg, but reminded myself that the last time I went heavy, I set a 100% I could base today's result off. I don't post fails often, but they happen much more than I'd like. EMOM till failure 1st: 5 CTB 2nd: 1 RC 3rd: 5 TTB (Add 1 to CTB & TTB each round) Managed to get up to 14 reps so really happy my body's responding well to the volume.
